What Distinguishes My Research
My research is shaped by an unusual combination of healthcare leadership experience and rigorous health services research training.
Before pursuing a PhD, I spent more than 15 years leading analytics, population health, and value-based care initiatives within payer and provider organizations serving Medicare and Medicaid populations. Working directly with healthcare systems, physicians, and care teams provided firsthand insight into the challenges of implementing programs intended to improve outcomes at scale.
These experiences continue to shape the questions I ask as a researcher. Rather than studying healthcare delivery in theory, I focus on understanding how healthcare systems function in practice, why some interventions succeed while others fall short, and what barriers prevent patients from receiving effective care.
My current work examines healthcare delivery, patient engagement, digital health utilization, and chronic disease management among Medicare beneficiaries. Building on this foundation, I am expanding my research agenda toward cardiovascular health services research, with a focus on identifying modifiable barriers to care and developing scalable strategies that improve outcomes among high-risk populations.
By combining real-world operational experience with rigorous quantitative and mixed-methods research, I seek to generate evidence that is both scientifically rigorous and practically actionable.
